For those who may not follow the nemu*blog or are unfamiliar with what Kickstarter is, this is a little primer:

Kickstarter is a site that hosts group-funded projects.
I create a project and you can help that project become a reality by making a monetary pledge.
Pledges are handed through Amazon Payments. Monies will -not- be collected until AFTER the project is fully funded and AFTER the project deadline.
You may make as many changes to your pledge as you like, while the project is still on-going, be it fully-funded or not.
If the project is not fully funded by the deadline, no one will be charged and the project will be suspended indefinitely.

So here’s my project goal:In short, I’d like your help in printing our next book in full color.

After printing Volume 5 in full color for our 5th anniversary, it’s hard to go back to black-and-white printing. However, it took a huge chunk out of our budget for 2011. Along with the rising cost of fuel, all of our expenses have gone up dramatically and thusly, we’ve been able to craft only a small number of new items this past year.

As it has been our tradition for the past 5 years, we work hard to have a wide variety of new merchandise to debut at Kawaii Kon, our first large show of the convention season. This year, Kawaii Kon is in mid-March, one month earlier than usual. We are currently on a tight schedule to get everything done by the beginning of the new year to make sure our books arrive by the show. This Kickstarter project is a big part of that schedule.

If our goal is reached by Christmas, we will immediately contact our overseas printers and give them the OK to start production. We already have an expected arrival and pick up date from the docks the week of Kawaii Kon!

So, here’s how you can help:

1) PLEDGE. If you would love to see our next book in print, please consider making a pledge! As I mentioned above, your money will not be collected until after the goal is fully funded and the project closes after Christmas. Every pledge counts, from $1 to $10,000! If we surpass our goal, all excess funds will be held for our next print project!

2) SHARE! Please share this project with your friends and family who may be interested in helping out! I also encourage you to share in your own words! You have more influence and impact than you can imagine!

3) BE CREATIVE! If you’d like to contribute in some way to this project — maybe you have a special incentive idea you’d like me to create, or perhaps you’d like to donate something on behalf of this project as part of an incentive package, I’m totally open to ideas!
